Whistler waved his hand around, coughing as he tried not to breathe in too much smoke. He glowered at the younger human male, once the smoke cleared enough for him to see Scud, at least.
"What the fuck were you trying to do?" he questioned loudly, glancing over as he saw Blade coming into the leb. "He's trying to blow us all to hell," Whistler muttered, glaring at Scud once more.

Waving a glove-covered hand in front of his face, Blade gave a good cough as the smell of the smoke hit him; it was a particularly vile combination of sulfur and sour-milk and - despite the fact that he had a pretty strong constitution - the Daywalker had to will himself not to gag.
"Dammit, Scud," The sheepish-looking prodigy's outline, along with the sillouette of a rather irritated Whistler, could be barely picked out through the thick smokescreen. "This'd better be good, whatever you're working on."

Whistler shrugged, shaking his head, while Scud looked like he was about to piss his pants. "I think he was trying to find something that reacted in that way with the reapers," Whistler spoke up, but his tone was still annoyed.

Priest turned the corner, ready to shoot. He nearly gagged, though, when a smell greatly resembling something that died a week ago, hit him smack in the face.
“What the fuck was that?” he coughed, waving a hand in front of him, trying to clear the smoke so he could actually see something besides sillouettes.

Verlaine came up behind Priest, almost running into him when he'd stopped suddenly. The moment the smell hit her, she coughed, one gloved hand covering her mouth and nose, and muttered, "What the hell . . .? Ugh . . . What is that?"

"No idea," Blade growled out by way of reply, shooting Scud a particularly scathing glare.
"Hey, c'mon, B," the nickname made the Daywalker grind his teeth, but he refrained from thrashing Scud 'round the head. This time. "Like Whistler said, I'm just tryin' stuff out."
Blade gave a smile that was really more of a baring of teeth. "Well it won't do much good if it blows us up, first, will it?"

Whistler shook his head, his temper calming down a bit as the smoke cleared more. He glanced at the remains of the equipment Scud had used. "I'm getting too old for this," he muttered and decided to leave Scud to the mercy of Blade.

Verlaine frowned, the disgusting smell lingering in her sensitive nostrils. It was definitely not something she wanted to experience again. She glanced at Priest, giving him a slight nod, and retreated back to the TV room, with the others.

Priest caught Verlaine's subtle nod. He shrugged and followed her from the lab; since they weren't under attack, he saw no reason to linger any more. Besides, the smell was more than enough incentive to leave. The TV area would definately be more pleasant-smelling.

Nyssa entered the lab just as Priest and Verlaine were leaving. She cast a glance back in their direction and watched them wander off. They seemed restless. No wonder. Even she was becoming slightly less than pleased with the rate at which things were going.
Upon entering the lab, she immediately wrinkled her nose in disgust. She raised an eyebrow at Blade and Scud, crossing her arms over her chest. “I certainly hope this means we’re making progress,” she said with a sigh.

Blade turned from giving Scud a good, verbal beatdown and looked to the vampire female. As it always did, the sickly-sweet smell of death hung about her, faint, but just enough to make his skin crawl. He'd never get used to dealing with these suckheads...
"Possible," he finally growled out, shooting Scud a good death-glare. "Either that or the kid has a deathwish."

"Well, do what you like with him, but could you hold off until after he finishes the weapons?" Nyssa asked, raising an eyebrow, arms still crossed. It probably would have offered some amusement to see the Daywalker beat the living hell out of the human, but they were desperately in need of weapons to use against the reapers. Amusement would just have to wait.

Scud's relief was more than obvious and the Daywalker rolled his eyes beneath his wraparound shades. The vampire princess had a rather good point - as much as he hated to admit it. They're crusade against the Reapers would be nothing without Scud's genius; the kid was pretty damn crucial to their cause.
That decided, Blade gave a low, non-commital noise of agreement and shot Scud a sidelong glare. Then, he turned to Nyssa with a curt nod before moving towards the stairs; the lingering stench of...well, whatever it had been was giving him a headache, and sticking around here wouldn't help.
